Our
Museu Rural, with its collection of country tools, has been created
by recovering ancient tools and machines which were used to work the
fields and to perform the daily life tasks in our farmhouses.
Take advantage of this opportunity to visit a country life museum with
its farmhouse material and tools associated with the countryside trades.
The museum also offers its visitors an audiovisual show about the artisans
and the work in the fields.
This
comprehensive exhibition of traditional farmhouse tools is located inside
rural premises with a surface area of over 500 sq.m., right in the centre
of Palau-Sator, next to RESTAURANT MAS POU.
The
tools and machinery exhibited in the museum dates back to the end of
the 19th century up to the first decades of the 20th century. All the
items are identified with the names used in the area.
The
visit includes several observation points. In first place there is a
part devoted to the Masia (Catalan farmhouse), the tools and implements,
and the carriages and tartanes (light carriages). Then there is the
part devoted to the traditional trades. The third part is devoted to
the kitchen, living quarters, the barn, the cellar and other usual places
in a farmhouse.
Adjacent to it is the projection room.
